I currently have $7k invested entirely in fxaix in a Roth IRA. I have been reading a lot of articles on how Nvidia will surpass its current position and eventually become a new Apple-like firm. Is it worthwhile to purchase it now with $3,00 and take the chance? I am concerned about passing up the chance to purchase a business at a lower cost and start investing with a significant advantage.

If there is any unfavorable news from management, you run the danger of purchasing Nvidia at an all-time high and witnessing a significant collapse. This was not the case a year ago.

In the unlikely event that Nvidia proves to be less profitable than many now claim, are you prepared to forfeit half of your investment?
If the next big thing is not in Nvidia but rather in the S&P 500 index, which you could have participated in, are you prepared to bear the opportunity cost?
