Is Quantum Computing Inc too risky because of the China connection?

This company seems unlikely to secure major government contracts. What do you all think about the China ties?

You make a strong argument here. Whether we like it or not, government contracts don’t look kindly on foreign connections like these.

Let’s talk about this behind the dumpster at Wendy’s.

:joy: Sounds good.

As someone who loves On Cinema at the Cinema, I can’t believe I’m seeing this image being used here.

So are you basically saying we can triple our money by doing the opposite of what you’re suggesting?

So, does this mean you’re buying puts on QUBT?

No need to short it, but also no reason to buy it. In my view, puts or shorting aren’t going to make you much money.

Totally agree. Avoiding this stock seems like the smartest play.

@Dru
If someone wants to get into quantum stocks, just wait for prices to drop in a couple of months. Get decent shares and plan to hold for 10 years.

The hype around quantum computing cracks me up. The tech needs to stay near absolute zero to work properly and even then, it’s only stable for 20-30 minutes. Physics doesn’t bend for trends.

@Parker
That’s true, but they are slowly improving error correction. The concept is solid, but full implementation is still 10-20 years out.

@Dru
If you’re into quantum, D-Wave and Google are way better choices—especially if you want companies with strong US ties.

Yeah, I’ve got April puts. This stock could easily slide back to $1. Timing the bubble is hard, though. My January puts from earlier this month will probably expire out of the money.

You’re committed to the short. Total quantum bear vibes.

A real quantum investor is both bullish and bearish at the same time, right?

I’m not sure you’re on the right track here. A lot of breakthroughs in quantum research are coming out of China. Why is offering Chinese language support such a problem? It’s going to be even more relevant in the future.

@Keir
The issue isn’t offering Chinese support. My point is, this company isn’t distancing itself from China like others are.

Unfortunately, the Chinese government influences things in ways that seem harmless—like student exchanges or donations—but they’re strategic.

@Dru
I get what you’re saying, but I think China’s influence is inevitable in certain areas. They’re leading in so many fields.

Are you trying to sway QUBT’s stock price with this? What about executives in Silicon Valley with Asian or Indian origins? The US has benefited from attracting the best minds globally. And regarding that NASA contract—$26,000 is peanuts. That figure has to be fake.
