Pfizer shared news about its BRAFTOVI combo therapy, saying it could help people with metastatic colorectal cancer with the BRAF V600E mutation. They presented the results at ASCO GI 2025, showing a 61% response rate compared to 40% from standard treatments. This is the first FDA-approved targeted therapy for this group of patients. It could be a big step forward for those who didn’t have many treatment options before.
They need to show survival data too, not just this response rate stuff.

They actually shared survival data in the linked study. HR is 0.47, but it’s not statistically significant yet. Still early days, though.

Isn’t the survival rate around 15-20 months usually? Wonder why they used a surrogate endpoint.

Probably just to get FDA approval quickly, even if the actual benefit for patients isn’t clear yet.
I’m holding Pfizer stock… hope this news helps me recover some losses.

Me too. Let’s hope for a turnaround.
I’m not in the medical field, but investing in pharmaceuticals feels so risky. It always raises my blood pressure.

Totally agree. I got burned by investing in a few small biotech companies. Feels like gambling.
@Val
Yeah, I’ve learned my lesson. Sticking to tech stocks now. Biotech is just too unpredictable.
@Val
Unless it’s a huge, diversified healthcare company, it’s hard to trust this sector. Too much risk for me.
@Val
A lot of capital is flowing into tech instead of other industries. Makes it tough for anything else to grow.

Healthcare investors seem so chill compared to the chaos of tech bros. Maybe I’m hanging out in the wrong spaces.

As someone working in healthcare, I can tell you there’s no logic to what succeeds or fails. Investing here is a mess.
The stock is at record lows right now.

Yeah… again.

Seems like every time I buy, it just drops even more.
I’m hopeful this will improve survival rates past two years. Colorectal cancer is brutal, and it’s rarely caught early. If this therapy works for 61% of people, maybe we’ll see some real progress.
I’m holding Pfizer stock too. This news is encouraging.
