Nvidia is joining the Dow… thoughts?

@Kit
Sounds like you don’t get what the Dow is actually for. It’s not there to maximize gains; it’s supposed to track the market (not as well as the S&P, though). People said the same about Amazon when it replaced Walgreens. Intel’s decline and Nvidia’s rise were major shifts, and it would’ve been early to switch them out five years ago. Nvidia’s definitely a household name now, which qualifies it as a blue chip in my book.

@Kit
At least they didn’t throw in something sketchy like SMCI, which is in the S&P, NDX, and RUT now. Makes no sense sometimes!

The Dow doesn’t even matter.

Grandma’s gonna lose her mind over this one!

This is just one more reason for people to sell off Intel. I wonder if my cousin is still holding onto his Intel shares.

So does this mean AI is here to stay and isn’t just hype?

Is Intel actually on its way out?

They are building a new chip plant in the US, so maybe not :person_shrugging:

Yeah, but TSMC’s already succeeding with their US plant. Intel’s got a ways to go to compete.

@Jules
Exactly, that’s kinda what I was hinting at.

Get ready for DOW short ETFs to pop up!

Finally!
