I need to sell the ETFs he bought. They’re awful, and I just want to move on.
Send him a written complaint via email. If he’s with a firm, they’re required to escalate it to compliance. This will trigger a review and potentially involve his insurance.
Contact the compliance officer at his firm and file a formal complaint. I did this once and got refunded for a bad investment decision the adviser made.
Just take over the portfolio yourself. Nobody understands your financial goals and emotions better than you do.
Find a new adviser and transfer your assets. You don’t even need to talk to the current guy—the new company will handle the process.
